Spidey Movies

Spider-man, Black Suit Spider-man, J. Jonah Jameson

My take:

Spider-man 1 - good

Spider-man 2 - awesome

Spider-man 3 - ugh, what happened? And the trailer looked so amazing too!

Anyway, I thought J.K. Simmons as Jameson was a bright spot through all 3 movies, and his appearance on the Simpsons (as shown here) was a real treat.

And I wanted to add - Kudos to the movie folks for keeping Spidey's suit the classic look! You could have gone in some bizarre "re-imagined" direction, but you kept to the comic book design while still making it modern and cool looking. Just wanted to say thanks for that.

P.S. MARVEL FANS, BE BACK HERE ON OCT 1!

Face Off!

Jarome Iginla

Some of you may not give a rip about hockey, but here in Canada it's a pretty big deal. When the Stanley Cup is awarded and the season ends, many of us are left wandering aimless for a few days without a game to get hyped for.

I myself never cared much for hockey until a friend invited me over to watch some Flames playoff games in 2004. The Calgary Flames eventually lost out to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the final round, but they were good times. I had so much fun that I just kinda kept watching, and haven't really stopped.

Sorry to all the other teams, but the Flames were just at the right place at the right time, and that's the bandwagon I jumped on. I'll be watching my favorite player, captain Jarome Iginla who'll lead his team again this year and we'll see how it goes.

Anyway, the NHL pre-season has just begun and people are starting to talk about hockey again. You can sense the buzz.

Will Superman Return?

Superman (movie), Lex Luthor (movie)

So was Superman Returns as a false start for the franchise? I donno. I thought it had some interesting elements and some cool moments. In retrospect, I'm not sure how I feel about the kid though. Did they paint the franchise into a corner?

I don't really have a problem with Brandon Routh, I like him. Hopefully they'll let him throw some punches if he's around for another film.

If they did decide to re-reboot the series I think I could live with that, as long as they find the right director who can do as good a job with Supes as Chris Nolan has with Batman. But you don't need to rush it, WB.

I am not a number!

Number 6

"The Prisoner" series from the 60's is of the most unique shows ever made. It was an engaging and enigmatic action-adventure allegory about freedom and the world system we live in.

If you've never heard of this amazing show, you can find out about it at
wikipedia

Patrick McGoohan even returned to the role of "Number 6" on an episode of the Simpsons a while back, how cool is that? This was the look he had as a Simpsons character

Catch it if you can. It might look like a bit of a strange show at first, (wait till you meet Rover) but if you're like me, after watching the series you'll scour the net for interviews and episode interpretations to dig deeper into the world of The Prisoner.

Be seeing you.

By The Power Of Grayskull...

He-man, Skeletor, He-man (Cartoon version)

Man I loved these guys.

I loved raising a stick over my head and yelling "I HAVE THE POOOWWWERRRR!

I loved seeing a young man surge with energy and become a legendary warrior.

I loved the feeling I got just by holding the chunky toys in my hand.

I loved the mountain of Masters of the Universe weapons lying on the floor.

I loved the bold image of He-Man mounted upon the faithful Battle-Cat.

I loved that Castle!

I loved being a kid.
