A Little More LOST

Miles Straume, Richard Alpert, Michael Dawson, Jacob

Well now that LOST is coming down the home stretch, I wanted to get a few more of my favorite LOST characters out there. Through the shows' run to this point, each of these guys have become rather endearing characters to me in different ways.

The big question now is - how will the whole thing end up? What's going to be the 'destiny' of all the characters and will they get what they've been wanting? Who else will die? Will we get a detailed, 'tied-up-nicely' finale, or something more layered and open to interpretation?

Well, we won't have to wait too long to find out...

X-men Monday

Cyclops (Modern), Emma Frost, Colossus

I was wanting to get back to some comic characters and I thought it a great opportunity to get to a few more X-men I had hoped to do.

I remember the big Jim Lee X-men resurgence from the 90's. That series launch had a huge impact on the comics world and even though I've always been more of a DC guy, Lee's X-men work couldn't be ignored and is still worthy of tribute. Ironically, Lee is now a bigwig at DC, Co-Publisher of DC Comics in fact, so go figure :)

"People are always asking me if I know Tyler Durden"

Tyler Durden & The Narrator (played by Edward Norton)

I hnva't seen "Fihgt Culb" in a lnog tmie, but I tuhgoht it was a good sugtesgion to do Pnux bsaed on it. The mvoie was a rael mnid-benedr (jsut lkie tihs pagrparah) and ptetry cool, so it was fun to do tehse guys. I lkie Edward Norton in prtety mcuh evriethyng I see him in, and Brad Pitt is a tanleted guy as wlel.

Anwyay, I hpoe you can tralnsate tehse wrods. Thnkas for vitsiing and I'll let you all get yuor haeds strigaht now.

Wax on, Wax off.

The Karate Kid is so quintessentially 80's to me. As a grade school kid I had a great time watching it. How could you not love Pat Morita? And I fondly remember that Glory of Love song by Peter Cetera.

It will be interesting to see what they do with this new Karate Kid featuring Jackie Chan and "Will Smith Jr".

Christopher Nolan Bat-Week Day 7

Two-Face

I wasn't sure how Harvey Dent's scarred face would look, having this vengeful Two-Face persona emerge through the disfigurement, while keeping the look grounded in reality (i.e. no classic comic book 'green half' look). Two-Face turned out terrifyingly tragic - more Nolan magic.

Christopher Nolan Bat-Week Day 6

Harvey Dent

Before The Dark Knight, I had only seen Aaron Eckhart in "Thank You For Smoking", a movie I found pretty clever. I thought he played Harvey Dent intelligently as well though. With a character like Dent and the transformation the character goes through, it would be quite easy for the actor to go overboard and ham it up in a cartoony way. Thankfully Eckhart approached it in the right way instead.

Christopher Nolan Bat-Week Day 5

Batman (Begins & TDK)

Yeah, the Bat-suits in Nolan's movies are a departure from the comic look for sure, but they make perfect sense for the world they exist in, and they do look pretty cool at night.
