I knew The Human Torch was an old comic character, but just recently learned that the first Human Torch was actually an android who had mastery over fire, and he first appeared in Marvel Comics #1 back in 1939 (The same year Batman debuted!).
It was much later that Marvel reimagined a new Human Torch as a member of the Fantasitc Four. Go figure.
i may be wrong but i remember reading some old school comics revealing that eventually that android become The Vision!

Because I went through this person's deviation gallery, and I thought he really has a diverse range of art. I've seen a lot of plagiarized and stolen works on DA, and I'm just being a concerned fellow blogger/artist that I want to point this out to you. ReplyDeletePhanjack, you are partly correct -- it was accepted for a long time that the original android Human Torch from Marvel Comics got reprogrammed and became The Vision (from The Avengers). But later, it turned out that The Vision was actually a second android made by the same creator as the Torch, and the original Human Torch was revived and had some adventures of his own in the 90s.
