The Night of the Doctor

Doctor Who's the 8th Doctor (Paul McGann, as seen in "Night of the Doctor")
It was a nice surprise seeing Paul McGann back as the Doctor, this time for the The Night of the Doctor, prologue to The Day of the Doctor special, almost upon us! One can only imagine what we might see there!

AND since it's a time to celebrate all things Doctor Who, I have this Captain Jack Torchwood action figure I'm ready to send somebody!

Just comment on this post below telling me which Doctor is your favorite, and I'll pick someone at random to send this figure to. Keep in mind, I'll have to be able to contact you, so you won't be able to post anonymously for this! I'll pay shipping up to a $20 value. I'll let you know the result next week!

Oh, and go play Google's DOCTOR WHO GAME while it lasts!! https://www.google.co.uk/

  1. I saw a Matt Smith episode first so I have a soft spot for the eleventh, but ultimately I would have to say the Sixth Doctor because although each Doctor is different, Colin Baker took the Doctor in a direction he felt wrong and yet did it well and was a damn good sport for wearing that patchwork jacket. Plus after meeting him, he is an incredibly kind and humble guy which made me like his Doctor even more.

    1. Matt Smith and Sylvester McCoy are my favorites due to their deceptive nature, always remaining a step ahead of everyone else, or at least pretending to

  2. I should just say 10 and be done with it, but I'm working my way through classic Who and I really enjoy 3 - Jon Pertwee. I love how he always has to drive something in each story! And his Venusian aikido is awesome! He rocks

  3. David Tennant is my favorite. Matt Smith, Tom Baker are a close second and third respectively. All that running and their love of the role and the love they put into it. Plus yelling "allons-y" just seemed perfect (at least better than "Geronimo")

  4. Ah, Dean you are a gentleman and a Whovian!
Of my favorites, it's hard to pin down one. David Tennant has to be the one, I guess, because he really brought a sense of cool to the Doctor.
Matt Smith comes a close 2nd tho. I love his off the wall zaniness, which hides his more clever side (Much like the 2nd Doctor). From the Big Finish Audio line, Paul McGann has been my favorite. Thanks, Mr Moffat, for a) letting him finish McGann's run, and b) by listing all of his Big Finish companions, making those adventures cannon!
    Here's to 50 More Years
    Allons-y!

  6. So far my favorite is David Tennant, though I haven't delved into the past much yet. I have a feeling I will like Tom Baker once I get to his stories.

  7. My favorite Doctor is William Hartnell, the original. Without his original portrayal, none of the next soon-to-be eleven actors would be here doing what they do.

  8. It's pretty close between 9 and 10 for me. At first, I didn't quite care for 10, but his later episodes won me over.

  9. For the classical series the best for me is Tom Baker, and for the actual series the best is David Tennant.

  10. Hmm..my favourite Doctor, that's hard. I love Eccelston as he was my first, and if I hadn't enjoyed him as much as I did, I never would have stuck with the show and went back to watch the beginning, or joined the Cosmic Hoboes, nor would I have found the wonderful Springfield Punx.

  11. From the new series Eccelston, and from the older series Sylvester McCoy.

  12. Yeah Eccleston for me as he gave the Dr a really gritty reality to the show which I loved. Close second Tom Baker as the first Dr I saw and liked his manic eyes.

  13. My favourite is Tennant, but in the 50th anniversary he was beaten by John Hurt!

  15. My favorite Doctor would have to be Peter Davison., Followed closely by Sylvester McCoy & David Tennant.

  16. Sylvester McCoy is my favorite. The way he manipulated everyone into action, and those hints of his dark nature really did it for me. I wish they hadn't cancelled the series, as The Cartmel Master Plan would have been a fantastic season!

  17. I started with Eleven, so he will stay my one. But of course Tennant is an incredibly great actor so I love him too.

  18. Thus far, the Tenth remains to be "my doctor" given his quirky personality, how he starts geeking out on some futuristic nonsense and then realizes that no one else understands him and how he shifts from happy crazy to crazy depressed / intense.

This may change once I finish going through Classic Doctor Who...

  19. Great we now have the full set.... (plus One extra) Glad that the War Doctor was allowed to stay as a Real Doctor

My Favorite was Patrick Doctor Number 2, although I was not born until December 1963 I still remember the change from William to Patrick from way back when. I may not be as old as the Doctor, but I am just older than the Daleks.

PS Just Noted that after seeing the Adventures in Space and Time "story " that your original drawing of Doctor Number one wearing a blue ring is wrong. The ring appears to be a Blown-Reddy colour. I always believed it to be blue, but I would think that after all the time and expense the BBC spent making the film they would most certainly got that detail right. (One would Hope !!!!)

Cant wait for your take on the "Next Doctor" Take Care

  21. TOM BAKER! My first Doctor, and still the best (although Tennant is wonderful as well!)

  22. Not to discount the rest of them, but Matt Smith & Paul McGann are my favorite Doctors.

  23. Paul McGann is actually my favourite Doctor, I loved him in the movie and have listened to all his audio stories with big finish, Seeing him in The Night of The Doctor was just...AMAZING

  24. My first was Tom Baker, and until the new series he was pretty much who I associated with "the Doctor." Recently, while Eccleston was definitely the one who sold me on nuWho, Tennant was why I stayed.
