Wax on, Wax off.

Mr. Miyagi, Daniel Larusso

The Karate Kid is so quintessentially 80's to me. As a grade school kid I had a great time watching it. How could you not love Pat Morita? And I fondly remember that Glory of Love song by Peter Cetera.

It will be interesting to see what they do with this new Karate Kid featuring Jackie Chan and "Will Smith Jr".

Christopher Nolan Bat-Week Day 7

Two-Face

I wasn't sure how Harvey Dent's scarred face would look, having this vengeful Two-Face persona emerge through the disfigurement, while keeping the look grounded in reality (i.e. no classic comic book 'green half' look). Two-Face turned out terrifyingly tragic - more Nolan magic.

Christopher Nolan Bat-Week Day 6

Harvey Dent

Before The Dark Knight, I had only seen Aaron Eckhart in "Thank You For Smoking", a movie I found pretty clever. I thought he played Harvey Dent intelligently as well though. With a character like Dent and the transformation the character goes through, it would be quite easy for the actor to go overboard and ham it up in a cartoony way. Thankfully Eckhart approached it in the right way instead.

Christopher Nolan Bat-Week Day 5

Batman (Begins & TDK)

Yeah, the Bat-suits in Nolan's movies are a departure from the comic look for sure, but they make perfect sense for the world they exist in, and they do look pretty cool at night.

Christopher Nolan Bat-Week Day 4

Nurse Joker

What can I say - what a cool scene that was in TDK. Delightfully twisted.

Christopher Nolan Bat-Week Day 3

Scarecrow

Scarecrow in the Batman Begins and TDK is a bit of a departure from the comic version visually, but within the world Nolan has created with his Bat-movies, it makes perfect sense to me.

Plus, Cillian Murphy can play 'creepy guy' really well.

Christopher Nolan Bat-Week Day 2

Ra's al Ghul

I was happy to see Ra's featured in Batman Begins. He's a rich, layered character in the comics and provides a formidable foe for Batman, not only in strength and skill, but in intellect as well. I think Nolan did a great job in translating him for the screen.

Christopher Nolan Bat-Week Day 1

The Joker (Heath Ledger)

Hey all, I hope you'll indulge me with something I've wanted to get back to.

Being the Bat-fan that I am, I figured I'd do a week to
feature characters from the Nolan Batman movies, including updated and re-colored versions of existing Punx and a few new ones that I've wanted to get done as well. I hope it'll put a *ssssmile* on your face.
